Sunday Early Voting
The Floyd County voter registration office will be open for Sunday early voting.
Registration Deadline
Last day to register or update an existing registration before the regular deadline. In-person same-day registration remains available afterward with a provisional ballot.
Mail-Ballot Request Deadline
The registrar must receive an application requesting that an absentee ballot be mailed by 5:00 p.m.
Weekend Early Voting
Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Sunday hours are 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Final Day of Early Voting
This is the last day to vote early in person for the November election.
General & Special Election Day
Vote at your assigned polling place. Anyone in line by 7:00 p.m. may cast a ballot.
What's on the Ballot
Floyd County voters will consider federal contests, three statewide constitutional amendments, and a county referendum. Town of Floyd voters will also see a Town Council special election. Your exact ballot depends on your residence.

Virginia election officials may show party designations for federal, statewide, and General Assembly offices. Local candidates appear without party designations as required by Virginia law.

Floyd County Sales Tax Referendum
Official ballot question:
Should the County of Floyd, Virginia, be authorized to levy a general retail sales tax at a rate not to exceed one percent (1%), with the revenues to be used solely for capital projects for new construction or major renovation of schools serving the County of Floyd, Virginia, including related bond and loan financing costs, and with the tax expiring on June 30, 2046?
A YES vote authorizes the tax described in the question. A NO vote does not authorize it.

After that deadline, eligible voters may register in person and vote a provisional ballot through Election Day under Virginia's same-day registration process.

- Sunday, October 18: 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 24: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Sunday, October 25: 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 31: final day; early voting closes at 5:00 p.m.
You do not need a reason to vote early.

Your application requesting a mailed absentee ballot must be received by the registrar by 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026.
Return a completed ballot in person or at an authorized drop-off location by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. A mailed ballot must be postmarked on or before November 3 and received by the registrar before noon Friday, November 6, 2026.
Follow all instructions included with the ballot. If you are notified of an issue with the return envelope, contact the registrar promptly.

When voting in person, provide an acceptable form of identification or sign an ID Confirmation Statement. A Virginia DMV-issued driver's license or ID may be used whether current or expired.
If you do not present acceptable ID and do not sign the confirmation statement, you may vote a provisional ballot and will receive instructions about the follow-up deadline.

Every polling place provides accessible voting equipment. Voters may request help from an election officer or bring an assistant, subject to Virginia law.
Voters who are age 65 or older or have a disability may vote curbside. Accessible equipment and curbside service are also available during early voting. Voters with print disabilities may request an electronically delivered absentee ballot for use with accessible ballot-marking technology.
